What should I wear?

Go ahead and funk it up! No boring matching white shirts and khaki pants here. Wear whatever expresses who you are, and makes you feel comfortable. Comfort in your own skin will show through in the photos and give that natural spontaneous feel. Don’t be afraid to accessorize, adding fun little accents that spice it up a bit. You may choose to coordinate your color palate with the loved ones in your session, but coordinating doesn’t have to mean matching. It can mean one of you is in a multi-colored print, and the other pulls out one of the colors in the print in a solid shirt. Or, you may choose a complementary color palate of shades of blue and yellow. All this fancy artist talk too complicated? There’s no wrong choice- choose your favorite threads and it’ll all work out just fine! Feel free to bring along a change in wardrobe to mix it up a bit.

What if it rains?

We have no shortage of that in Seattle and I’m always amazed at the lengths Seattleites will go to not allow the rain to dampen their day! No doubt about it, rain can make for some fun shots. But if that would be too much of a bother, we can reschedule the session for another day, no prob!

Can I buy the digital files from my session?

Absolutely! You’re the best keeper of your memories, so discs with fully edited high resolution images, as well as individual files, are always offered with every session. You’ll get a print release which will allow you to print wherever and as much as you want. There are many photo labs out there, but it’s not so easy to find one that will consistently turn out top quality prints, which is why I encourage you to first order your favorite images through me and they are guaranteed to be stunning every time.

I definitely want to book you. What do I do next?

Sweet! I’m excited to work with you and get to know you! For portrait sessions, you’ll sign a portrait agreement and pay a non-refundable session fee of $300, and the date and time will be reserved exclusively for you. For weddings, once a non-refundable retainer of $750 is paid and a contract signed, you are booked! You may book online here, and I’ll then send you a PDF file of the contract for you to sign and return to me to seal the deal.

How long until I get to see my images?

I know you’re excited, so I won’t make you wait long! Your online gallery will be up less than a week for portrait sessions. After a wedding, you’ll have your album pre-design before you’re back from your honeymoon, with the full set of images available the week after. How’s that for lightening speed?!

What if I don’t like my images?

I know that you’ll be in love with the images from your portrait session and that they will give you years of smiles and goosebumps whenever you look at them, which is why I provide a 100% unconditional guarantee that if you aren’t absolutely THRILLED with your images, I’ll fully refund your money!

Why does custom photography cost so much?

This not your ordinary photography, but a time for you to show your unique personality that I’ll capture in a fun and artistic way. It’s not just the time behind the camera, or the paper or materials used to create prints and products. It’s the years of education and experience behind the moment when I create an image of you that becomes art you will enjoy the rest of your lives. Every moment behind the camera also means more moments at a computer editing and retouching the images so that they become the stunning final images you see. I love what I do because I get to meet new people all the time, while being creative by taking everything that’s out there and isolating the moment and composition that make the piece of art you will take home and place on your wall or coffee table. It’s all the workings of a proper business, complete with insurance coverage, licensing, and on-going professional development to stay on top of the latest trends. It’s also the experienced photographic eye behind the top notch camera equipment that create the frames that hold your moments and personalities.

I don’t need an engagement session, can I take that out of my collection?

You can, but it won’t save you anything, as the engagement sessions are really a get-to-know-you session, a chance for you to see how I work, and for me to get to know you a bit as a couple. This will make everyone more comfortable and comfortable people make for more natural wedding day photos, which is what we’re going for. If you’ve already had engagement photos done, we can make it a fun and relaxed portrait session with the two of you, or anything else fun and creative you can think of!

I see you’re based out of Seattle. Are you available for travel?

Yessiree, Bob, you bet I am! I’ve traveled and photographed in over 25 countries, and have a network of contacts around the world in the event you need someone on the ground to give you some helpful local hints. At any rate, you may customize your collection to send me wherever your destination may be. Travel within the continental US is $1000, and worldwide destinations are $2000.  Worldwide destination collections include a complimentary newlywed session.
