Stacy + Andrew Engaged! | Seattle Engagement Photography

Posted in Engagement, Portraits

We lucked out with this session landing on one of the first feels-like-summer days in Seattle this June.  It’s a good thing, too, since I was starting to think winter would melt right back into fall and we’d miss summer altogether!

Stacy and Andrew are a great couple and to top it off, she proposed to him!  How cool!  I just love her no-nonsense, down-to-earth approach to life that is balanced just-so with his I’ll-snuggle-with-you-in-public-no-matter-who’s-looking take on their relationship.  They have great senses of humor and I just can’t wait for their wedding in October.  It’s going to be a blast!

They brought along their very photogenic canine Vincent to add to the fun of their session.  Any dog who’s people love him so much that they treat him to doggie ice cream is a lucky dog indeed!  Now on to a sneak peek at their engagement session before I wear out the hyphen key on my keyboard.

Vancouver Olympics 2010

Being only a couple hours away from a worldwide event like the OIympics, we couldn’t resist heading up to see for ourselves. I mean, the Olympics are something that happens in some exotic faraway land that you only watch from a distance on TV. But here they were in my backyard.

One of the US/Canada hockey games was happening that night, and when Canada scored a goal, the cheers rippled from inside the bars and into the overflowing streets filled with people straining to catch a glimpse of the action. The energy in the city was quite electric indeed!

Oplove | Free Sessions for Deployed Military Families

Posted in Miscellaneous

In honor of my Marine cousin Zach coming home from Afghanistan this weekend, I’m proud to announce I am now a participant in Operation: Love ReUnited, a non-profit organization that connects deploying, deployed, or returning military families with a professional photographer who will create artistic, poignant images in an effort to make those long months go by just a little bit faster.

And here’s the greatest part- it’s all at NO COST to the family! That’s right, it’s totally FREE to you. It’s my way of saying thank you for all you do and come home soon!

If you or your loved one is being deployed, is deployed, or is coming home soon, here’s what I offer you:

  • Either a Pre-Deployment or Deployment Session
  • A mini album of images to be sent to your deployed loved one
  • A Homecoming Session, with mini album of images
  • 50% military discount on all prints and products with no obligation to purchase anything

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Your initial session will be either with your service member before he or she deploys dressed in their dress uniform or BDUs for most of the session, or if your service member has already deployed, your session will be done without your loved one keeping a patriotic theme that could include dress, hats, BDUs, boots and other military gear.

For the Homecoming Session, I will accompany your family to the welcoming home of your spouse or loved one, and capture that first glimpse, that first embrace, and all the love that surrounds every person who walks off that plane, into their families arms.

Military families are eligible for up to two sessions per year per deployment.

Please fill out this form for more detailed information or to book an Oplove session. I’m currently serving military bases in Western Washington.

Visit Operation: Love ReUnited to learn more about the organization behind it all, or to find a photographer in your area.

If you know any military families, please share this exciting news with them!
